Abstract

The recognition of batik as a world heritage results in the raising image ofbatik both in Indonesia and abroad. This recognition has bettered all batikbusinesses, including the hatik SMEs in Wijirejo, Pandak, Bantul.Batik market competition must be overcome by doing a lot of innovations inmodels and monitoring the development of trends. Model changes in the fabric industry is absolutely necessary. According to the trend development in society, one model of batik will not last long.Before performing other marketing approaches, the market or segment that istargeted has to be clear first. One of the causes of business failure is the failure of the entrepreneurs in defining the market targetted. Therefore, the company should be able to apply the right target market segmentation. Market segmentations demand correct attentions.This research is aimed to provide an instrument to capture the facts about batikmarket segmentations for batik SMEs in Wijirejo, Pandak, Bantul. Instrument testing is conducted by using the method of Pearson Praduct Moment and Cronbach Alfa. Keywords: market segmen tation, Instrument questionnaire, Cronbach Alfa, Pearson Product Moment.
