Abstract
Perkembangan zaman yang semakin pesat senantiasa diiringi dengan teknologi yang semakin canggih. Seiring dengan pesatnya perkembangan teknologi khususnya bidang teknologi informasi dan komunikasi serta dalam rangka menghadapi era globalisasi, sebuah organisasi sangat membutuhkan informasi yang cepat dan akurat yang diperlukan untuk membantu proses pengambilan keputusan. Penelitian mengenai Kualitas Sistem Informasi Akademik berdasarkan persepsi mahasiswa STMIK AKAKOM Yogyakarta ini ditujukan guna meningkatkan kualitas dari sistem informasi akademik (SIAKAD). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, sedangkan jenis penelitiannya adalah deskriptif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa STMIK AKAKOM yang registrasi semester ganjil 2014/2015 sebanyak 2222 mahasiswa, dengan sampel 96 mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui menyebarkan kuesioner. Dari hasil survei dan analisis yang dilakukan diketahui bahwa persepsi mahasiswa AKAKOM terhadap kualitas SIAKAD baik. Terlihat dari keseluruhan sub-sub dimensi pada dimensi-dimensi variabel kualitas SIAKAD. Melihat hasil tersebut, sebaiknya AKAKOM membenahi sistem yang bermasalah, yakni pada sub dimensi system reliability dan timeliness. Selain itu kualitas pelayanan para front liner juga lebih ditingkatkan lagi, sebab para front liner tersebut adalah pihak yang berhubungan langsung dengan pengguna. Solusi untuk masalah yang terkait dengan lingkup pelayanan bisa diperbaiki dengan memberikan tutorial maupun pelatihan-pelatihan professional. Sedangkan untuk lingkup sistem bisa diperbaiki dengan meningkatkan fasilitas hardware, software maupun fasilitas pendukung lainnya. Kata Kunci: Informasi, Kualitas Sistem Informasi Akademik, Sistem, Teknologi ABSTRACT Increasingly rapid development period is always accompanied by increasingly sophisticated technology. Along with the rapid development of technology, especially information technology and communications, as well as the coming of the globalization era , an organization is in dire need of fast and accurate information necessary to help the decision making process . This study is a study on the Quality of Academic Information System which is based on the perception of the students of STMIK AKAKOM Yogyakarta and is intended to improve the quality of academic information system ( SIAKAD ) . This study employed quantitative approach, while the type of the research was descriptive. The population of the study consisted of 2222 students of STMIK AKAKOM registered in odd semester 2014/2015, with a sample of 96 students. The data of the study was gathered by distributing questionnaires. The result of survey and analysis showed that the perception of the students of STMIK AKAKOM toward the quality of SIAKAD was good. It was seen from the overall sub-dimensions of SIAKAD's quality variable dimensions. Considering the result of the study, STMIK AKAKOM should fix the system's problems, such as the reliability and the timeliness. In addition, the quality of the frontliners' services need to be improved because frontliners are those in direct touch with the customers/users. The problems associated with the scope of services can be solved by providing professional tutorials and training. As for the scope of system could be fixed by improving hardware, software, and any other supporting facilities. Keywords: information, the quality of academic information system, system, technology
