Abstract
Samba adalah aplikasi linux yang menggunakan SMB protokol (Server Message Block). Banyak system operasi seperti Windows dan OS/2 yang menggunakan SMB protocol untuk mendukung client-server networking. Dengan menggunakan protokol ini, SAMBA memungkinkan server yang berbasis Unix/Linux berkomunikasi dengan system jaringan yang berbasis Windows (Win95, Win 98, Win 2000 atau Win NT). Dengan kata lain, samba memungkinkan sebuah mesin unix menjadi sebuah server bagi client berbasis windows. Sistem monitoring ini akan dibuat dalam beberapa buah file shell script. Shell script warnquota ini akan di eksekusi secara terjadual memanfaatkan fasilitas dari daemon crontab sehingga dapat memudahkan network administrator dalam melakukan monitoring. Network administrator akan menerima email peringatan jika service kuota harddisk user telah mencapai soft disk yang disediakan. Network administrator juga dapat melakukan pengecekan user yang sedang aktif. Kata Kunci : Monitoring, Distributed File System, Samba, Network Administrator, Shell, Warnquota, Crontab.
